We are currently working to help start a charity fund who's intention will be to help homeowners who host house concerts around the country with the unexpected expenses that can arise. Septics overflow, collateral damage to property happens, etc.. There is currently nothing in place to help with these unexpected costs and they unfortunately must be absorbed by the homeowner. Melissa and I feel that should never be put on someone who's sharing their home and love of music with friends, so we're using this project as a vehicle to help.
It is my hope that this project will help shed some light on these wonderful venues around the country and inspire more of you to go enjoy some fellowship and music in a backyard close to you. Or plan some trips and use it as an excuse to go check them off your "Buffet-list"! This house concert movement is relatively new in the grand scheme of things, but I believe it's something very unique and those who experience the magic together all over the country tend to agree!
At the same time, this project is also a labor of love for me to be able to honor the music and memory of the man who plowed the waters for the rest of us to live our dreams. May this compilation bring you some laughs and some joy, and may we all do our best to make even a small difference in this world before we leave it!
